Best version I've found

In the last few years I've made over-the-knee socks a fall staple, as they're perfect for the time of year when it's too cold for bare legs but not quite cold enough for tights. (Cynthia Steffe, Prada, Rag & Bone, Donna Karan, and Alexander Wang all also showed them on F2010 runways.) Overall these are the best version I'm found. They don't cut into the thigh, but stay up on the leg. They are also weighty enough to provide excellent warmth, but not so bulky that you can't wear them with your normal shoe size. Highly recommended.

Great Alternative to Tights

I bought these to wear with long skirts instead of tights - I needed something with a band that wouldn't be too tight around my calf - these over-the-knee socks fit the bill, not too tight but snug enough to stay up. I can fold the top down if I choose to wear them more like a traditional knee-sock, or wear them over my knee. They are very soft and warm. I would have liked them to be a bit thicker and a tad warmer for winter (thus the 4 stars) but overall think they're a great sock.

Warm fun

These were perfect for an outdoor holiday occasion. One size does not exactly fit all, but I'm shorter than the average American woman, so I could hook them to a garter belt (remember those?). Will wear these under skirts and pants instead of tights, since these are not as likely to be damaged by everyday wear.
